“Buddhist Prague Community is a non-commercial, non-sectarian online platform created by Scott Alexander Jones, an American proofreader, poet, parent, and Buddhist practitioner living in Prague. It showcases free English-language mindfulness events, including in-person meditation sessions, Zoom talks from the US and UK, and a variety of global resources such as apps, audio teachings, and online courses from universities like Harvard and Columbia. Inspired by the Buddhist tradition of dāna (the practice of offering knowledge and resources freely to nurture spiritual growth), it aims to provide accessible resources across diverse traditions and secular mindfulness practices. The project also explores connecting Buddhism with social action, particularly in resisting racism, homophobia, and antisemitism.
Scott is an American proofreader and book editor based in Prague, dedicated to helping Czech writers articulate their ideas with clarity and impact. He refines their words for eloquence and ensure their stories are told with power and precision.
